Two habits we apply to every product.
Each product is defined by a formula and an ingredient norm, so quality and cost can be checked against a single reference.
Product cost is calculated from a bill of materials and ingredient prices, so a change in price shows up in the cost of the product.
A cost assistant for our own kitchen. The workbook that holds each product's formula and ingredient prices is read by a deterministic engine, and Claude explains what the engine finds.
Every cost is calculated by the engine. Claude calls it as a tool and explains the result in plain Vietnamese. It does not do the arithmetic.
What drives the cost of a product, what happens to product cost and margin if an ingredient price moves, and which products changed most between the old and new formula.
Problems in the workbook itself, such as loss rates that are not in the cost, loss rates in unclear units, zero prices, and ingredients with more than one price.
Status: prototype. The engine runs on our real workbook (136 products, 1,105 formula lines) and is covered by automated tests. The Claude layer is being tested.
